About me

In 1977 I graduated from DDIAE, now USQ, with a Diploma in Teaching (Primary). Newly married, I taught for seven years before resigning in 1985 to have my two children Katie 23 and Wally 21. Long term leave was not an option in those days. For the past 22 years I have had a multitude of part time contracts teaching primary school students as well as specialist teaching positions in PE, ICT and Special Needs. Changing to secondary school and teaching vocational education and training, required many hours of self training.

Our main outlet for sales is through weekend markets. The drought and Toowoomba city water restrictions have curtailed our plans for further development. Since returning to full time teaching, we have decided to scale down production and hope that drought breaking rain will be forthcoming sooner rather than later. As my husband Tim works in plant pathology at the Qld DPI, life is always busy.

Hobbies

Our family "loves" the beach. Family holidays have oftened revolved around trips to the Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast and Coff's Harbour, NSW. Each December we load our nursery van up with sailboards, bikes, kayaks, surfboards, fishing gear and anything else needed for a great time. Each summer we arrive at Gemini, park our car in the basement, then don't stop until it is time to go home.

Two weeks to experience a yearly "Seachange".

Family

My husband Tim works for the Department of Primary Industries at the Leslie Research Centre in Toowoomba. He works in plant pathology studying nematodes in wheat.

Both my children have completed school. They enjoyed success in the sport of swimming. My daughter Katie was fortunate to acquire a USA sporting scholarship to the University of Hawaii. After five years study she has just graduated with a Degree in Kineseology and Leisure Science. Tim and I flew to Hawaii for her graduation. which was a great excuse for an overseas holiday. Wally is studying Business at USQ. At present he is a part-time lifeguard at Highfields Aquatic Centre (Summer) and works one day a week as a technician at Oakey High School.

I have one 11 year old labrador called Heidi and a very lovable 6 month old chocolate labrador called Ferguson. They are always ready to go walking along the country roads nearby. I enjoy going to the gym, walking, swimming and riding my bike.
