Installing NetGear WG111 USB on Linspire

September 9th, 2005

With Linspire's free download of Linspire Five-0 due to an accidental "Freespire" release, I thought I would download it to give it a go.

Installation was easy, easier than Microsoft Windows.  However with Netgear's negligence to Linux, I had to yet again use NDISWrapper.

It has been documented, and put in the Documentation section.

Apache2 Configuration Tool

August 23rd, 2005

I am thinking of another tool for the Linux users at the moment, as you can see in the title, an Apache2 Configuration Tool.  You can probably see that this is a growing trend, getting through some of the major servers used in Linux today.  This project isn't even on the drawing board yet, however after creating workable programs with the Samba and DHCP Configuration Tool (A software project is never finished), I will start making it.

If anyone has ideas on names the Samba, DHCP, and Apache2 Configuration Tool can be called, please email me.  w0009132@mail.connect.usq.edu.au

Using 'sudo' with PHP sites

August 19th, 2005

I have been having a few problems with getting 'sudo' working with web-based PHP (Website).  As you can probably tell what the problem is, in a website on the server, if you use the shellexec function, there is no username for the sudoers file.  Using some very sloppy hacks, and using TCSH, this can be done.

Head over to the documentation section to see how.

Installing NetGear WG111 USB on Ubuntu

August 14th, 2005

After a long battle and very useful information from tmccoy and remin from http://www.atomicmpc.com.au forums, it has finally worked.

*Update*
The documentation has now been uploaded.  Please go to the Documentation section to view the HowTo.

Welcome to my personal blog

August 5th, 2005

Hi everyone!

I'm a university student, currently studying Computer Science at USQ, Toowoomba, Queensland.  My interests include Computer Programming, Computer Hardware, Football (Soccer) and Linux.

Not really sure why I have started this site.  Probably a little project to keep me active.  I will (in the future) include software projects I am currently doing (most will probably be in C), Linux in general (mostly documentation on problems I have solved, next will be installing a NetGear WG111 USB Wireless card on Ubuntu[In Progess]) and other stuff I come across.

Hope you can stay and browse the site, and send me an email anytime about tech in general.  w0009132@mail.connect.usq.edu.au
