As stated on the Home Page of this website, all new employees who are Registered Nurses or EEN’s (EN Med) are sent out a practice medication exam and the General Medication Administration clinical practice policy in their employment contract package. Then, prior to commencing clinical work in their ward or unit, they must complete a medication administration examination relevant to their position.

Here are copies of the current practice exams sent out to all new employees.

These practice exams would be ideal as revision exercises for all nurses at St Andrew's.

Although there are some on-line interactive drug calculation exercises and commercially available CD-ROMS on drug calculations, most originate from the USA. Unfortunately they are not very suitable for Australian nurses because the USA still uses the Imperial System of measurement. They are in transition in the change-over to the international standard of measurement based on decimals (International System of Units: SI).

Here are two suitable on-line quizzes for nurses in Australia:

Quiz 1 : from TestandCalc Company (trial version available on-line). The Educators have the CD-ROM.

Quiz 2 : from an NHS hospital pharmacy UK, prepared specifically for nurses (available free on-line)
