Hi, this is my website for the delivery of activities and assignments for the USQ course:

FET8610 Creating Educational Web Environments

My name is Hans Horlings, I live in Dubai with my wife and 2 children and work at the Higher Colleges of Technology, Sharjah Men's Campus.

I am interested in Business in general and Entrepreneurship in particular. I teach mainly business and sometimes basic IT courses. This means that most of my students have a little working knowledge of products like Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Flash. I thought it would be good to know more about these subjects myself, forcing myself to do it by enrolling in the Ed-Tech Certificate.

I have finished 3 modules and so this is the last one. I am looking forward to finishing and getting on with other things in my life like sailing, travelling etc.

My educational background includes a Bsc and more recently an executive MBA. I am a Dutch citizen, but lived some 13 years in New Zealand and now already some 6 years in Dubai.

I just finished the multimedia course and found that very interesting. So hopefully in this part I learn a little more about how to pull it all together and create a site with lots of educational content for my students. I think my strongest point is mastering the technology, and my weakest is creativity...making it all look nice and original and not boring!

I will use this site to upload all tasks and activities where possible.
