Module 4 Activities Activity 4.5 Activity 4.6 Activity 4.7 |
All of the sound loops in the activity below were downloaded from Flash Kit. The Rock loop is called "Dayzrock" and was developed by Day. The Pop loop is called "Anders 3 pop" and was developed by Anders Kjeserud. The Electro loop is called "Bit Bytes" and was developed by Tucibat. The Funk loop is called "70's like theme" and was developed by 00MIT00. I found the activity below initially straight forward. I decided on a basic design because of time constraints. Consequently a simple bright font seemed applicable. In retrospect I wish I had used a motion tween using alpha to fade in the text from 0 to 100%. I decided to have the labels appear in separate layers at the end of the movie rather than attaching them to the buttons. I spent some time looking for suitable flash buttons to use, but ended up creating very simple ones myself (based on traffic lights). Key learning moments: Adding the stop action to the last frame of the base layer. I was then able to do the same to the previous two activities. The necessity to first convert the button as a movie symbol before converting it to a button symbol. Creating a third layer in the button movie clips and adding a red disk in the second frame to indicate that the selection is playing. Using the action window, here I admit things are still a little hazy. It took me a long time to discover the "Actions Button" window and I found it purely by chance. I managed to turn off other loops when clicking on another button by using the code given in the study notes, on (release) { However, I failed to change the red button back to green when that selection wasn't playing. I tried using the code given in the notes, on (release) { replacing the bolded sections with the "instance of" titles accorded to the buttons and then clips, but to no avail. The red button remains after the connected music has stopped.
