Helen Golding was a feminist, prison activist and radical street-smart lawyer. She represented Bernie Matthews during the 1970s. Helen died in a car accident during the 1978 Easter weekend. These series of unpublished photos depict the respect and high regard many people had for Helen in her role as an advocate for minorities and the underprivileged. The 'Remember Helen Golding' and 'Close Katingal' graffiti appeared on the steps of Sydney's Court of Petty Sessions and Glebe Town Hall shortly after Helen's death in 1978.
