4.3 - Car Animation in Flash

Activity 4.3

This was quite an easy activity. I imported the background, car image and the sound file into Flash. Converted the car image to symbol and created a motion tweening effect. On a new layer I added the text "off to work we go" at the required frame. I also added the sound on a new layer. Having different layers makes it so easy to work and locking the layers when not required helps us from messing around with things. After completing I noticed my car was jumping up and down a bit hence had to make sure that the Y values for the car were same throughout the animation

Ideas and skills gained from completing it

This was the first time I was giving sound effects in Flash files. I have always used external programs for sound editing and would bring the sound back into Flash. But when I read the instructions that were provided I realized that different sound effects could also be given using Flash.

Flash reduces the file size to a greater extent compared to any other formats that can be used. That’s the reason why most of the multimedia that is delivered on the World Wide Web uses Flash format to create interactivity.
